The GTA partnership got to enjoy amazing talks and panels, watch several teams pitch their latest projects during Sweden Game Pitch, witness the inauguration of Walk of Game, playtest a variety of exciting games at the Indiecator and watch the winners of SAGA, Pitch of the Year and Indiecator of the Year receive their awards when the Swedish games industry gathered in Skövde.
In October 2024, the people behind Game Tech Academy came together for our 2-day long in person partnership meeting in Skövde, Sweden.
With the great view of the University of Skövde and Science Park’s campus, we delved into many different aspects of the project: from overall project management and internal communication to the specificities of upcoming activities and offers.
Game Tech Academy representatives made connections and exchanged ideas with enthusiastic players from the tech world at two recent networking events in Aarhus and Copenhagen.
Joining these events supplied us with great opportunities to start meaningful conversations with start-ups and established companies that are using game technologies already or are interested in innovating through and with those.

A delegation from Cygames Research, Japan, paid GTA a week-long visit – hosted by the University of Skövde. The visitors got to experience the entire ecosystem around gaming in Skövde.
The visit included meetings and discussions with students, teachers, researchers, incubators, and local startup companies.
Game Tech Academy came to life at the partners’ first in-person meeting in Aalborg in early spring 2024.
Shortly after the project’s official start at the beginning of this year, representatives from all partner organisations took to Aalborg in North Denmark to not just get to know each other in person but to also kick-off their collaboration in real-time.
